Cafe Transformation

The Cafe Day proved to be a favorite with my fifth graders.  I repeated this day about once a month to enable me to have uninterrupted time to provide intensive interventions for my at risk students.  All of my fifth graders stated that this was one of their favorite days!  They entered the classroom with red table clothes and lanterns sitting at their tables purchased from Dollar Tree.  They were given a menu of work that they needed to complete for the day.  I surveyed my students a week before the big event to find out who their favorite singers were so I could preview their songs for school appropriateness.  The students were given an approved cafe song list with safe embedded links that they could pick and choose which songs that they wanted to listen to while they studied.  I monitored their activity using securly.  I served muffins, bagels, hot chocolate and juice for my students as they studied!
