About Me

Welcome! Thirty eight years ago, I started my career teaching kindergarten for ten years, then ventured on to teach sixth grade for a few years.  Later on I taught fifth grade, Title I reading, third grade, second grade and a split second/third grade classroom.  I retired after teaching for thirty years in Ohio and moved to Florida with my husband of thirty four years along with my two daughters.  After a couple of years in Florida, we moved to Virginia.  I was missing the classroom and teaching the children, so I became a second grade teacher in Virginia for two years and have taught fifth grade for the last few years.

After thirty six years of teaching, I am still passionate about teaching!  I love thinking of my students as individual shining stars, like you find in the night sky, who just need zealous teachers who will create engaging lessons that meet their different learning needs to make them love learning!  Through this blog, I hope to inspire others to have a night sky view of their students!  May we all take the time to look at the night sky where we can find calmness and hope, for in the darkness there is light!      ----Inspiring Duo
